Erica Puts Them Paws On Lil Scrappy On The Cover of Rolling Out Magazine

Originally posted on Z 107.9:

Well looky looky, a brotha proposes to his lady finally (“So you gon’ marry a n***a???”) and now they’re displaying their love for the world to see. Lil Scrappy and his fiancée Erica are covering this month’s issue of Rolling Out and the mag sat down with the couple, and their daughter Emani, to give readers an inside look on why what seemed to be a dysfunctional union on-screen works so well in real time.

In the interview, Scrappy touched on his issues with how he was portrayed on the show, and his disappointment with the fact that people assumed he was a bad father:

“They kept saying I was a bad father,” he shared while on set for his rolling out cover shoot.

As he reviewed his photos through my camera’s viewfinder, he continued. “That was the one thing that kept getting to me. It was messed up because…

In our series “The ThirstFiles,” we decide to share stories and essays that communicate one angle of the thirst whether it involves a woman who develops a sexual addiction or a married man who stalks for affection via the internet. Just so you know, we’re not taking ourselves too seriously here but wanted to take a more focused approach to understanding this thing called “The Thirst” lol. Enjoy this installment and let us know what other angles of the thirst you’d like to see explored.

Rihanna’s Not Going To Take This Well: PETA Comes For Singer And Her Snakeskin Boots

Originally posted on Z 107.9:

We already know PETA is cray, but Rihanna is cray cray so the animal rights org might want to think twice about coming for her head — or her feet in this case. After seeing Ri Ri out getting her trapstar on with a sweatshirt, leather skirt, and a pair of knee-high snakeskin boots on, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals just about blew a gasket, which would explain their nonsensical response to her outfit.

“Rihanna may not have a clue that snakes killed for boots are often nailed to a tree and skinned alive. Of course, they can’t go on Oprah to cry about it.” the org said, throwing shade on the singer’s recent “Next Chapter” appearance.

“Wearing reptile skin is creepy and callous, and it makes her look even more out of touch. She and Lady Gaga seem so desperate to be freaks instead of recognized…

It’s About Time! Tami Roman Finally Settles Child Support Suit

Originally posted on Z 107.9:

It took nine years, i.e. too freaking long, but “Basketball Wives” star Tami Roman and her ex-husband have finally settled their child support drama.

According to TMZ:

Roman filed a lawsuit in New Jersey way back in 2005 against her ex, retired NBA star Kenny Anderson. Roman claimed he had stopped paying the court-ordered $8,500/month in child support for their two daughters — totaling $800k in missed payments.

Sources close to Tami tell TMZ … the two recently settled the case out of court. We’re told Tami received just south of what she was owed and will be paid incrementally through Kenny’s NBAretirement fund.

We’re told in return, all the warrants issued against Anderson for his unpaid child support were dropped.

It’s a shame Tami even had to file the lawsuit, which it looks like from TMZ’s timeline, it took her two years to even go through with. Apparently…

Michelle Obama Closes DNC Speech With Beyonce Theme Music

Originally posted on V 101.9 FM:

Michelle Obama demonstrated her style and oratory skills with a powerful speech at the Democratic National Convention on Tuesday (September 4). But she also showed off her musical tastes when she came out to the voice of Stevie Wonder (“Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I’m Yours”) and wrapped her talk with the upbeat sounds of Beyonce.

The First Lady closed the first day of the Democratic National Convention with a heartfelt speech that outlined the connection she and her husband have with common Americans.

“Barack knows the American Dream because he’s lived it,” she said. “And he wants everyone in this country to have that same opportunity, no matter who we are, or where we’re from, or what we look like, or who we love.”

Originally posted on Z 107.9:

When the 2012-2013 NBA season begins, you might notice something different about the uniforms.  according toEURweb, the NBA is considering adding two- by-two inch patches to the jerseys in order to make an extra $100 million a year.  If it works out as planned, the jerseys will look similar to the racing industry wear advertisers are slapped on any open space on the jackets.

The NBA deputy commissioner Adam Silver sounded very optimistic saying:

“I think it’s likely that we’ll do something, implement something, some sort of plan for the fall.  I think it’s fair to say that our teams were excited about the opportunity and think there is potentially a big opportunity in the marketplace to put a two-by-two patch on the shoulder of our jerseys.”

Just placing them on the shoulders won’t be too bad but it’ll be interesting to see what happens if an…
