Cameron Diaz, 41, just keeps adding bullet points to her résumé. After playing photographer and writer for her The Body Book, she also took on the role of artistic director for accessories line Pour La Victoire, helping to oversee the artistic direction of the line. And now the first round of shoes created under her supervision is being released.

The fall 2014 collection features lots of neutrals, luxe suede and leather and moderate heels. And while she’s very clear that she won’t be putting her name on the designs or appearing in the ads, she wants her stamp to be all over the brand.

DIY: Upcycled Sweater Scarf Tutorial and Giveaway

Originally posted on The Renegade Seamstress:

I woke up this morning to a beautiful winter wonderland. The air absolutely still, every branch veiled in white, a smooth carpet of snow replacing the brown mud of yesterday. And to top it all off, it’s SATURDAY and those big goose feathers are still floating down!!!

I personally love snow but I know many of you out there have been shoveling for months now. In honor of all of you hearty souls who have to endure long, cold winters, I’ve created a quick and easy sweater scarf tutorial so you can still look great while staying warm.

All you have to do is choose an old thrift shop sweater with a pattern or color you like. This was a wonderful sweater in it’s day, but it was all stretched out now and just didn’t flatter me as a pullover. Perfect candidate for a sweater scarf.

Stylish deformities: The ways that fashion has flattened, bent, and broken bones.

Originally posted on Strange Remains:

Skulls and skeletons have influenced fashion for centuries from clothes, to jewelry, to purses.  But fashion has also affected bones by flattening, bending, and even breaking them through skeletal modification.  These artificial deformations were often a mark of social status as well as femininity.  Below are few ways fashion has changed bones from past to present.  Let’s start with the head and move our way down.

Artificial cranial deformation, also known as head flattening or head binding, is a form of cranial modification in which the frontal and the occipital bones are intentionally flattened and the cranial vault is lengthened using cloth or wood.  Cranial deformation was practiced throughout Europe, Asia, and South America.
