Who’s going to portray the legendary Whitney Houston?
TVLine reports “America’s Next Top Model” alum-turned-actress Yaya DaCosta has been cast to play Houston in Angela Bassett‘s upcoming Lifetime biopic about Houston’s volatile relationship with Bobby Brown.
The biopic will be Bassett’s directorial debut. She released a statement on the film, “I have such regard for both Whitney’s and Bobby’s amazing talents and accomplishments; and I feel a responsibility in the telling of their story. Their humanity and bond fascinates us all. I’m beyond excited to have this opportunity to go behind the camera and into their world.”
Most recently, DaCosta starred in Lee Daniels’ “The Butler”.
What do you think about the choice?

Juanita Moore, Groundbreaking Actress, Dies
By Mark Memmdott
“Juanita Moore, a groundbreaking actress and an Academy Award nominee for her role as Lana Turner’s black friend in the classic weeper Imitation of Life, has died,” The Associated Press writes.
The wire service adds that “actor Kirk Kelleykahn, her grandson, said that Moore collapsed and died Wednesday at her home in Los Angeles. She was 99, according to Kelleykahn. Accounts of her age have differed over the years.”
The Los Angeles Times calls Moore “a pioneering African American actress.” She was “only the fifth African American ever to receive an Academy Award nomination, a rare honor in a racially divided era when actors of color seldom claimed rewarding roles.”Imitation of Life, the Times says, “is a subversive masterwork of socially conscious cinema that gained a cultish popularity in later years.”

Her over 180 piece collection includes eye, face, lip and nail products which are available at 1,500+ Wal-Mart locations. What is great about this collection is that it’s cruelty free(not tested on animals) and the price point is beyond amazing- nothing is over $15! It is luxury products at mass market prices. According to the press release the collection is “formulated with the same quality ingredients found in department store luxury brands, but sold for a fraction of the price”.
How did Barrymore produce such high quality products at such fair prices???? Well Barrymore and team chose to skip paid advertising and rely solely on blogs, social media, word of mouth and Barrymore’s popularity to do the “advertising”,which frees up the usual 20-30% that would fund advertising. That money is…

Great news for Scandal fans….Kerry Washington and cast have been given the green light for season two. I’m so relieved!
ABC has been cautious with the Shonda Rhimes political soap. But in the wake of its reasonably steady performance on Thursdays this fall, Scandal is now getting an extra nine episodes and its first full season. (Scandal is averaging 8.1 million viewers and a 2.5 in adults 18-49, plus a hearty 45 percent DVR boost).
Follow the show on twitter at @ScandalABC and let Kerry how happy you are the show is returning!
