On Tuesday, Steve Harvey’s new self-titled nationally syndicated TV show premiered to solid ratings according to Metered Market returns.
The Hollywood Reporter says one of reasons was that he started his run a week ahead of what’s supposed to be his biggest competition, Katie Couric.
In fact, it was the strongest premiere other than Dr. Oz’s in 2009.
The first episode of the self-titled talker received a 1.5 household rating and 4 share in 48 markets, a 50 percent jump in the time period average, year over year.
Terrance J and Rocsi called the quits with their 7 year relationship with BET’s 106 & Park. Yes, it has been confirmed by Stephen Hill, President of Music Programming & Specials for BET Networks with this statement:
“Today, after seven exciting years, 106 & Park hosts Terrence J and Rocsi announced that they will be leaving the show. It is no secret that there are a number of opportunities coming their way and we’re fortunate that they’ve been with 106 & Park for so long. They will be staying on the show for a while, so that we can have a “victory lap” — a celebration of their years at the helm of 106 & Park— before their departure. Terrence J and Rocsi are destined for great success and we at BET Networks will always take pride in being their original home — and be a place where I hope they’ll always feel welcome.”
As you all know Terrance J is no stranger to the entertainment industry. He has debuted in BET’s-The Game, Stomp the Yard, Stomp the Yard 2: Homecoming, Burlesque( Dave the DJ), and starred in Steve Harvey‘s, “Think Like a Man”.
Who do you think will be up for the job?
