What could have been a near death experience actually turned into a life changing event. She has become known for her infamous saying “Ain’t nobody got time for that”. Well, lets just say, Ole Sweets no longer has to ever worry about not having a cold pop in her box. Congratulations! Another Youtube sensation.

As most of us take time to catch-up on some much needed R&R on this Labor Day, I am reminded that Labor Day has many different meanings for each of us. For some, it signifies the end of Summer and outdoor gatherings with family and friends. For others it indicates the beginning of NFL and college football seasons or even the last day of the year when it’s fashionable to wear white. And for retailers, it indicates the largest sale day of the year, second only to Black Friday.
Whatever this holiday signifies for us in our personal lives, it seems equally as important to understand the true purpose and intent of the day. Labor Day was originated to celebrate the economic and social strengths and contributions of workers to the U.S. economy. In fact, parades were generally held to allow the public to demonstrate their appreciation for the workers who kept the economy bustling.
How appropriate even today! With the economy still in recovery, we might each be reminded to take a moment to express THANKS to those in the small business sector who consistently contribute to the growth & stability of our communities, create jobs, and provide services/products even when big businesses are here today, gone tomorrow. So, in your leisure time today ponder and ask yourself, “When was the last time I said THANKS to a small business owner? Better yet, when was the last time I demonstrated my thanks by buying from a small business owner?”
Supporting small businesses does not have to cause a great interruption in your normal shopping habits… you can contact a small business owner to purchase jewelry for a special event, purchase flowers from a local florist shop, hire a local entrepreneur to speak at your next event, purchase candles from a local candle maker, or support a local author by ordering copies of their book for a book club event. I guarantee your local small business owners will be happy to oblige in getting you What you need When you need it!!
To all of the hard-working Solopreneurs, Micropreneurs, Mompreneurs, SHEpreneurs, HEpreneurs, Entrepreneurs and Small business owners, I say THANKS and Happy Labor Day.

As an additional component of this initiative, Cheryl took a FEARLESS Jump from 12,000 feet in the sky to demonstrate that women can achieve anything they set out to do simply by implementing “mind over matter” and embracing their personal power over their fears!
