I just happened to come across an old interview with Roland Martin and Russell Simmons that I thought would be inspiring to others. At times we need to view things in a different perspective and stop being so narrow minded to our own judgment and defining characteristics. Often we tend to think what our thought process is to be correct in every situation and not open minded to other views. Hope this little message speaks in volume and maybe change the way you think.
As families of those aboard the missing AirAsia flight continue to await any news of what befell their loved ones, questions are again being raised about why it takes so long to find airlines that go missing in remote areas in a time when spy satellites can reportedly see a golf ball from space.
The reason, said Matt Bradley, president of Calgary-based FLYHT Aerospace Solutions is that flights are still largely tracked by ground-based radar towers. That means vast swaths of the Earth, including regions over oceans and poorly populated land masses, are effectively blind.
“The fact that this is happening [again] in Southeast Asia is a coincidence, but most of the world isn’t covered in terrestrial networks,” he said. “The issue is that 24 hours after an event, we don’t know where the plane is.”
