Bishop Cook Banned Indefinitely From Episcopal Church

BALTIMORE, Md. (WJZ)–Banned indefinitely! The national Episcopal Church now restricts Bishop Heather Cook from acting as a member of its clergy. The move follows the hit-and-run accident that killed cyclist Tom Palermo just before the new year.

Once a highly regarded religious leader–Heather Cook was the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland’s first female bishop.

But the 58-year-old’s career continues to unravel. In a power move by the Episcopal Church leaders restrict Cook from acting as a member of their clergy saying, “You shall not exercise or engage in the ordained ministry of this church in any respect, participate in any functions of the house of bishops, and shall not hold yourself as an ordained person of this church in good standing.”

This–effective immediately.
