Martese Johnson is finally speaking out on his arrest by authorities at the University of Virginia, which resulted in him being beaten badly, while outside of a Charlottesville bar.
The 20-year-old was charged with public intoxication and obstruction of justice after agents of the state Alcoholic Beverage Control arrested him, as they enforce the alcohol laws in the state. He is also accused of using a fake I.D. card at the time of the arrest.
Johnson attended a press conference earlier today, where his lawyer spoke on his behalf, sharing his thoughts on his arrest, which left him “shocked.”
His lawyer said in the conference he was “shocked that my face was slammed into the brick pavement three blocks from where I attend school.”
