Family Speaks Out In Fatal BW Parkway Hit-And-Run

HYATTSVILLE, Md. (WJZ) —The driver responsible for striking and killing a man on the Baltimore Washington Parkway in February has come forward.

As Tracey Leong reports, the victim’s family is speaking out.

The man surrendered this past week, but the family says the charges he’s facing are far too lenient.

For more than three months, police searched for the driver who hit 38-year-old Rick Warrick and his fiancé Julia Pearce and then kept going.

Warrick was killed in the crash, his wife was also hospitalized.

“We’re human beings, not roadkill, that’s what it makes me feel like roadkill,” said Julia Pearce, fiancée.

On February 1, 2015 Warrick and Pearce were changing their tire on the side of the BW Parkway north of Route 197. Pearce says that one night shattering her world.

Transgender Woman Sues Georgia Dept. Of Corrections, Justice Department Sides With Her

In 2012, a transgender woman Ashley Diamond, was arrested on burglary charges and was housed in a correctional facility with men. Although Diamond had been taking estrogen therapy for 17 years, she was denied access to her medication; her gender as a woman was not acknowleged by the Georgia Corrections Department.

Diamond,now 36, subsequently sued the department in February, her initial lawsuit saying that her rights were after the agency failed to continue her treatment, as well as disregarded her gender by placing her in a male correctional facility. The Department of Justice recently sided with her in her lawsuit.

“Prison officials have the obligation to assess and treat gender dysphoria just as they would any other medical or mental health condition,” the Justice Department’s prosecutor Vanita Gupta said on Friday, according to The New York Times.

Diddy Is Creating A Black ‘South Park’ For FX

Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs is teaming up with cable television channel FX to produce the animated comedy Brightmoor, according to Deadline Hollywood.

The publication reports that Puffy is set to executive produce the show through his REVOLT Films banner with Sarah Snedeker serving as an additional producer.

Described as “South Park set in inner-city Detroit,” the show will be centered on the African-American students at Brightmoor Elementary.

It is set to be created and written by former King Of The Hill writer Chip Hall and Detroit comedian Chris Powell.

Reports say Roy had police waiting for Dash at his house in light of her kid been “AWOL from school. Adding to the drama are claims from the fashion designer that Dash is an abusive stoner with a history of domestic violence.

Court documents reveal that Roy wants Dash’s visitation rights taken away amid claims that the music mogul is an unfit father to his two daughters, Ava and Tallulah.
