MERRIMACK, N.H. (CBS) — A Connecticut man has been charged with trying to kidnap a girl at the Merrimack Premium Outlets.

Police say 25-year-old Desmond Mighty of Windsor approached the girl as she left a restroom Wednesday afternoon, threw her down to the ground, pinned her and then threatened her.

The girl started screaming and that got the attention of a bystander who came to help.

Mighty ran away, according to officers, but they were able to track him down in the parking lot and arrest him.

After getting a search warrant for his car, police say they found two loaded guns and a large amount of marijuana.

He now faces several charges, including attempted kidnapping, assault, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of a concealed gun.

Mighty was held overnight on $100,000 cash bail.

He will be arraigned Thursday in Merrimack District Court.
