Up until now Paula Patton hasn’t said much if anything about her split from Robin Thicke.

But earlier today the actress appeared on “Good Morning America” with Robin Roberts to talk about new life as a single woman.

“I’m doing really well,” Patton said. “I mean, the honest truth is it has been challenging, but it’s been a year of growth, learning about all new things. My son’s happy and I’m very — you know, I feel like everything happens for a reason. And then you have to move on and grow from there.”

“The thing is you can’t wallow in sadness or stay in bed when you have a child. And they’re so full of life and wonder. And he brings me so much joy,” she added, referring to the couple’s four-year-old son Julian.

In May of 2014, the New York Daily News ran a story about New York Yankees’ third baseman Alex Rodriguez and his relationship to an alleged DEA informant named Desiree Perez. The report claimed Perez was advising Rodriguez in the Biogenesis case that ultimately resulted in Rodriguez being suspended for 162 games. The report also claimed Perez was “a Manhattan nightclub manager with a lengthy criminal record and close links to hip-hop mogul Jay Z,” and described her as having “a long and wild history as a DEA cooperating witness and then a fugitive.”

When Sway Calloway brought up the subject of his relationship with Jay Z, fellow Roc-A-Fella co-founder, Damon Dash, referenced the allegations of a relationship between Perez and Jay Z.

On this week’s episode of Scandal, art imitated life as Olivia Pope and her team found themselves in the middle of Rosemead—just blocks away from the White House, where an African-American teenager named Brandon Parker was gunned down by a police officer. The storyline closely mirrored the real life murder of Ferguson, Mo. teen Michael Brown, who was shot and killed by police officer Darren Wilson in August 2014.

Scandal included the teen’s father, Clarence – played by Courtney B. Vance – toting a shot-gun at the site where his son was gunned down. The grieving father ultimately sets a chair over his son and sits down, waiting to find out which cop is responsible for his death.

It sounds a bit sudden or random, but there is some math to WomenOn20’s logic to change the all-boys club of currency. In 2020, it’ll be the 100th anniversary of the 19th amendment that solidified a woman’s right to vote in America. Susan B. Anthony famously led the woman’s suffrage to get that amendment passed and in memory of the women who made
