Just a few months ago I became a Poshmark seller newbie. Along the first couple of weeks, it was a little discouraging after going into the third week with no sales. And just as I was thinking about deactivating my account, voilà, I got my first sale. It was truly exciting preparing the products, printing shipping label, confirming and packing the order, and off to the post office. Now, all was left was to check daily to track the package. But, what was more exciting than processing the order was receiving my first payment minus the 20% commission that goes to Poshmark (a bit more than I favor). Over the next few weeks the orders were trickling in over time and then it came to a halt before I got my next order. I guess the inconsistency creates a level of excitement when you have made a sale. So far, I have been getting excellent feedback from my customers maybe because I always give each order a surprise gift for my appreciation.
Here is my dilemma, here and there I have to deal with lowballing offers that can be very annoying especially when Poshmark takes their 20%, people will try you. One person actually cursed me after I suggested that she not offend people who are trying to be reasonable with their pricing. If I am selling a quality new item for $40 don’t offer me $10.00.
Any hoot, got a recent offer that was a couple dollars less than my asking price but I countered and the person accepted the offer. Unfortunately, Poshmark makes the seller wait 3 hours before you can process the order to allow the buyer to option of cancelling. Okay, it was after 5pm so the post office was closed anyway. The next morning, checked the account, still there, and just as I was about to print the shipping label I see CANCELLED. I must say that my initial reaction was WTHECK! Yeah I know people make purchases and returns at department stores all the time, to include myself but trust me no one likes returns. The reason why I was really disappointed was due to the fact that I use more than one platform for my products and I had changed the quality on each one and now I have to go back to change it again.
