Beverly Johnson thrusted herself back into the spotlight a few months ago when she made shocking allegations about being drugged by Bill Cosby back in the day, and now, the supermodel/entrepreneur is back making waves. This time she has a tell-all book coming out, which features more juicy details about her life.

Ralkina Jones Video: ‘I Don’t Want To Die In Your Cell’

Originally posted on News One:

The death of Cleveland woman Ralkina Jones inside a Cleveland Heights jail cell late last month marked the third such passing of a Black woman while in the custody of police. The Cleveland Heights Police Department released around 30 minutes of body cam video which showed Jones speaking to authorities about a variety of health concerns, including her stating that she didn’t want to die inside the jail.

Jones, 37, was detained by  police on July 24 for allegedly attacking her ex-husband at his place of work. Facing a handful of charges, Jones was taken into custody and died two days later. What made Jones’ death even more curious was that it occurred during the closing day of a weekend-long gathering of activists in nearby Cleveland working in conjunction to advance policy to protect Black lives.

The video, released on Tuesday afternoon, revealed that Jones was explaining to the…

Originally posted on theGrio:

A bystander captured a picture of the moment a Cleveland police officer drew his gun, and the image of the officer pointing his weapon at two unarmed black women has since gone viral.

The image first appeared on Reddit, before it was posted to Twitter.

According to police spokesman Lt. Ali Pillow said, the officer was patrolling on Sunday before he was flagged down and someone pointed out a car that was involved in a hit-and-run.

The officer, identified as Sgt. Robert Batos, then approached the vehicles in question. According to NewsNet5:

The police report states Bartos, ‘being alone and unaware of the driver’s intentions with the motorcycle still running, and only the clutch and rear brake engaged, he drew his weapon and ordered the driver to stay in the car.’

The officer then ordered everyone to show their hands. The weapon was never fired, nor were any injuries reported.

Class II Slot Machines or Class III Slot Machines? What’s the difference?

Originally posted on Professional Gambling Blog and How to Beat the Casino:

There are two different types of slot machines, class II and class III.  There is a big difference with each classification of slot machine in the way that they operate.  You may have played class II slot machines at one casino and class III slot machines at a different casino and never realized the difference.

Class III machines are also known as “Vegas Style” slots.  These can be found in all your large regulated markets (e.g., Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Reno, etcetera.)  The way these machines work is with a Random Number Generator or RNG.

A RNG is supposed to be a program that comes as close as humanly possible to choosing numbers randomly.  Theoretically, any program created by a human cannot be completely random, but it’s suppose to be as close as we can get.

Thousands of numbers are being generated inside the machine, even when the machine isn’t being…

These Two Kids Are Already Entrepreneurs and Philanthropists

*We can file this under: “Are you sure you’re just a kid?” Or maybe, “Society has got this wisdom thing all wrong,” but most likely, as our black elders used to say, “You’ve been here before so why you front’n?” because two young boys still in elementary school have already accomplished, in the early stages of their lives, what many of us are still trying to do.

Meet brothers Jeremiah and Joshua West, now 10 & 7 years old respectively, who, thanks to parents who demonstrated what can happen if you listen to and believe in your children, nurtured their young hearts’ desire to display compassion, are now published authors and philanthropists. The West brothers put their desires in motion by being “Change Agents,” those who inspire children all around the world (as far away as Malaysia) to give back to the less fortunate in their community.

Talk about running the world.

Michelle Obama sat down with rapper Wale on Friday to answer questions and promote herReach Higher initiative, a campaign aimed at encouraging all students to continue their educations past high school.

She took the opportunity to reveal the advice she’d give to her college self, but most importantly, she revealed something amazing: If FLOTUS could have a different job other than being, well, FLOTUS, she would choose to be Beyoncé.

The First Lady’s affinity for Bey is not new. She invited the songstress to her birthday party and has even attended her concerts. Still, it’s humbling (and kind of hilarious) to learn that even someone as flawless as FLOTUS feels the same way we all do about Bey.

Keep throwing that “Single Ladies” hand up in the air, girlfriend.

It is often said that imitation is the highest form of flattery but for popular Black jewelry designer Rachel Stewart, imitation may put her beloved handmade jewelry company out of business. We spoke with Stewart not too long ago as she gushed about pride in her business and the leap she took becoming an entrepreneur, wanting to create and control her own future… Now it seems with fame comes fraud. Stewart’s designs have been worn by the likes of Nelly Furtado, Kim Coles and Beyonce’s all-girl band, the Suga Mamas… Unfortunately, now sites such as AliExpres and Alibaba have been imitating Stewart’s coveted designs and profiting off of her unique looks… [They] also stole the photos she shot of the jewelry and models.
