The site reports:

The photo was shopped to us … we passed. It was taken earlier this week at the facility outside of Atlanta. A woman is hovering over Bobbi Kristina in the photo … we’re told it’s a family member.

This comes after the family has reportedly begun preparations for Bobbi Kristina’s funeral.

The only child of Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston was found unconscious in a bathtub at her Georgia home in January. She was then placed in a medical coma and, according to most reports, hasn’t shown much improvement since.

Diddy dodged the bullet in his recent assault arrest, after the Los Angeles D.A. rejected the case, reports TMZ.

The hip-hop mogul was arrested in late June and charged with felony assault, after an altercation with a UCLA football coach.

Reports said Diddy confronted an assistant coach at UCLA, when he was screaming at his son Justin on the field. Things became physical… and he was later arrested.

However, the D.A. has dismissed the case, and Diddy will no longer face the felony charge.

Now the City Attorney must decide if it warrants prosecution for a lesser offense, like misdemeanor assault.

Serena Williams Pulls Out A Win To Face Sister Venus At Wimbledon

Originally posted on Black America Web:

LONDON (AP) — Twice, Serena Williams stood merely two points from a loss at Wimbledon against a British opponent buoyed by a roaring, flag-waving Centre Court crowd.

Twice, Williams was oh-so-close to the end of her bid for a fourth consecutive major title — and for the third leg of a calendar-year Grand Slam.

And twice, pushed to the precipice, Williams regrouped, resisted and wound up winning, as she so often does.

Stomping her foot after misses, alternately screaming in delight or despair, even wagging her finger at fans who booed her, the No. 1-seeded Williams overcame a surprisingly staunch challenge from 59th-ranked Heather Watson and emerged with a 6-2, 4-6, 7-5 victory in the third round Friday.

“I honestly didn’t think I was going to win,” said Williams, who trailed 3-0 and 5-4 in the final set. “How I pulled through, I really don’t know.”

Officials believe the brown-haired, brown-eyed girl was about 4 years old. Her body was found June 25 on Deer Island inside a plastic bag that also contained a black and white zebra-print blanket.

MLK Statue Will Replace White Supremacist On Georgia Capitol Grounds

Originally posted on Black America Web:

The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., one of the country’s most lauded citizens, will be finally honored by his home state with a sculpture on its capitol grounds.

Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal and Rep. Calvin Smyre (D-Columbus) announced this week that the state has selected artist Andy Davis to create the piece. The sculpture will be placed on the northeast quadrant of the Capitol grounds overlooking Liberty Plaza, replacing a likeness of 19th century politician and newspaperman Tom Watson, a white supremacist. Watson’s statute was removed from the Georgia Capitol lawn in November 2013, reports local station WMAZ-13.

“Placing a statue of Dr. King at the Capitol of his home state is a long overdue honor,” Gov. Deal said in a statement. “I am confident that Andy Davis’ past works, including a statue of Ray Charles in the singer’s hometown of Albany, have prepared him well…

It felt a little too good to be true that Janet Jackson dropped a new single and that Ava DuVernay got confirmed to direct a Marvel movie in the same day. Turns out it was.

No Sleeep” wasn’t a fake, but DuVernay is actually not directing Black Panther. DuVernay told Essence she considered Marvel’s offer, but she passed.

“I think I’ll just say we had different ideas about what the story would be,” DuVernay said. “Marvel has a certain way of doing things and I think they’re fantastic and a lot of people love what they do. I loved that they reached out to me.

“I loved meeting Chadwick and writers and all the Marvel execs. In the end, it comes down to story and perspective. And we just didn’t see eye to eye. Better for me to realize that now than cite creative differences…
