By Brett Malec/E! News — We’re getting some more insight on what transpired ahead of Kim Kardashian’s weekend wedding to Kanye West, with a source setting the record straight on Beyoncé and Jay Z’s absence from the event.

Beyoncé and Jay Z, decided not to attend after all the elevator drama that went down with Solange Knowles earlier this month after designer Rachel Roy (a Best Friend/BFF of Kim’s) reportedly engaged in some flirting with Jay on the night of the Met Gala.

“Given Kim and Kanye’s list of celeb friends, surprisingly, they didn’t invite that many,” a source says. “They wanted it to be a small and intimate wedding. Jay Z and Beyoncé were invited but didn’t come, seemingly to avoid drama from Rachel Roy who was going. In the end, the wedding was full of love and super intimate.”
Despite not being in attendance, Bey did send Kim…

(AllHipHop News) When Alexander McQueen isn’t getting nominated for Oscar’s he’s interviewing the most polarizing Hip Hop artist of the past 15 years. The Golden Globe winning director interviewed Kanye West about his history of Grammy snubs, an interesting story of how Dame Dash saved his life and more.

When asked during his Interview magazine interview how he dealt with the negative criticism “mentally, physically, spiritually” following his incident with Taylor Swift at the 2009 Video Music Awards, Kanye West answered quite matter-of-factly:

It’s funny that you would say “mentally, physically, spiritually” because my answer before you even said that was going to be “god, sex, and alcohol.”

In the interview, Kanye says openly compares himself to innovators such as Steve Jobs, Bill Gates and others to give people a better context of his potential.  West also remarked that one of the people he as often been compared to, Tupac, had…

Originally posted on Z 107.9:

Following the release of Kanye West’s sixth studio album,Yeezus, and the launch of his “Yeezus” tour, the Chicago rapper has taken part in countless interviews while off stage and has engaged in what he calls

“visionary streams of consciousness”

while on stage.

Using both outlets, the G.O.O.D. Music emcee has remained heavily vocal when it concerns his opinions on music, fashion and art, among other topics.

But during his latest and final tour rant, Kanye revealed that he may soon be keeping his thoughts to himself for quite some time. While performing at his final “Yeezus” tour stop in Toronto, ‘Ye informed those in attendance to soak in his words since it might be the last time he expresses his opinion for up to a few months.

“Everything I’m saying that’s not allowed, soak it in right now…this might be the last time y’all hear me talk sh*t for a…

“The Cultural Impact of Kanye West” will weigh in on the cultural impact that West’s work has had over the course of the last decade and will look at the “moral and social implications of West’s words, images, and music in the broader context of Western civilization’s preconceived ideas…,” according to Amazon.com.

Bailey himself is no stranger to writing books about the contributions of hip hop artists to Western culture. His last book, “Jay-Z: Essays On Hip Hop’s Philosopher King,” dissected Hov and his music back in 2011.

You can expect to read about West’s contributions to Western civilization in early March 2014. Better go digging for…

WHAT BEEF? President Obama Says Kanye West’s Music Is “Outstanding” (DETAILS)

So maybe this Kanye Westvs. President Obama “beef” is one-sided.

Despite Kanye and President Obama’s perceived tumultuous relationship, the POTUS is still listening to Yeezus’ music on his iPad. In a recent interview with The Guardian, President Obama praised Ye’s musical merits.

Over the years, President Obama and the “Black Skinhead” rapper have exchanged jabs at each other. After the 2009 MTV VMAs, President Obama called Kanye a “jackass” for interrupting Taylor Swift, which obviously didn’t sit well with the Chicago emcee. During an interview with Philly’s Hot 107.9, Kanye talked about President Obama’s “jackass” comment:

“I don’t care if somebody the President or not. I care about thoughts, and how you helpin’ people, and what you bring to the world. My music brings joy to people. What I create brings joy to people, and I’m about people. Me, I’m not about me. I’m about, ‘I got an…
