Michelle Obama sat down with rapper Wale on Friday to answer questions and promote herReach Higher initiative, a campaign aimed at encouraging all students to continue their educations past high school.
She took the opportunity to reveal the advice she’d give to her college self, but most importantly, she revealed something amazing: If FLOTUS could have a different job other than being, well, FLOTUS, she would choose to be Beyoncé.
The First Lady’s affinity for Bey is not new. She invited the songstress to her birthday party and has even attended her concerts. Still, it’s humbling (and kind of hilarious) to learn that even someone as flawless as FLOTUS feels the same way we all do about Bey.

First Lady Michelle Obama has always taken education seriously, but she?s taking it a step further with her Reach Higher initiative. ?I exist because I have an education,? Michelle Obama told Rickey Smiley during his exclusive interview at the White House.
The Reach Higher initiative is the First Lady?s effort to inspire every student in America to take charge of their future by completing, whether through professional training program, community college, or a four-year institution.
Michelle Obama said one problem with our education system is that it isn?t cool. ?We?re not talking about it enough,? she said. But another major barrier in education is the notion that college isn?t for everyone.

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — First Lady Michelle Obama celebrated the beauty, power and tenacity of black women while spreading her own message of education for girls at Black Girls Rock!, an annual event honoring trailblazing women of color from all walks of life.
“No matter who you are, no matter where you come from, you are beautiful,” Obama told the crowd, which included many young black girls.
“I am so proud of you. My husband, your president, is so proud of you,” she added. “We have so much hope and dreams for you.”
Obama was not among the honorees at Saturday night’s festivities, held at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. That distinction went to actress Jada Pinkett Smith, singer Erykah Badu, actress Cicely Tyson, “Selma” director Ava DuVernay, educator Nadia Lopez and Dr. Helene D. Gayle, president and CEO of CARE USA, a humanitarian organization.
