Breezy is having a rough summer.
Tank vocalist extraordinaire latest song, ‘Stronger,’ is receiving overwhelming response on my show, Majic After Dark,’ The Quiet Storm, and everytime I play it my phone light up. But across the country his most recent album is being met with mixed reviews and Tank is not taking the luke warm reception and poor record sales to well. The latest from Tank is that he posted a photo of himself on Instagram in bed along with what you’d call a rant. ‘If I look tired it’s because I am. I’m deeply saddened and disappointed that ‘Stronger will not get a video or continued promotion it deserves!, he starts off with. Now the ‘Stronger he’s referring to is his latest album which was released back in August. From what I hear is not selling very well; it’s first week of sales was under 17,000 units. Jazmine Sullivan’s “In Love With Another Man” will never get old to me. I’m patiently waiting for her new album “Reality Show” that hits stores on Jan. 13, 2015, but until then…I’ll watch this recent performance (of an oldie but goodie)…on repeat!

Prince and “New Girl” are teaming up. According to E! News, the rock-soul icon will portray himself on the Fox sitcom, in the episode debuting after the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 2nd. Prince is said to have initiated his appearance. He’s apparently a fan of the show, and reportedly approached producers about being a guest star. E! is reporting, Prince will “interfere” with Jess and Nick’s relationship. HitFix.com says the episode will revolve around one of Prince’s infamous Minneapolis house parties. “New Girl” stars Zooey Deschanel and Jake Johnson as Jess and Nick. Looking forward to more Prince sitings before he takes the stage in New Orleans at the Essence Music Festival.

In an interview with our sister station 92Q,Wale shared his thoughts on Tiara Thomas parting ways with him. He clearly felt betrayed, especially when he did all he could do for the artist just off of loyalty alone.
“No…it’ll take a while for me to do that again. I got trust issues already. I got artists that I am helping but it will never be at that capacity again,” Wale confirms.
Sounds like bad news for independent artists who hoped to work with DC’s most prolific rapper.
