Who Will Be Playing Aaliyah In VH1 Biopic?

The Rickey Smiley Morning Show

Celebrities Visit SiriusXM Studios - June 16, 2014

It looks like singer-actress Zendaya Coleman will be playing the role of late singer Aaliyah in an upcoming VH1 biopic.

The official announcement will come out later this week, but in an exclusive to Necole Bitchie, this is official as it gets. Filming starts in a few weeks, and the movie is set to premiere in September.

Coleman, 17, was first seen on Disney’s “Shake It Up” and as a backup dancer for singer, Selena Gomez.

We wonder if this will spark any controversy considering Coleman looks nothing like Aaliyah. We saw how much backlash Zoe Saldana got for not looking like Nina Simone. Either way, we hope she doe a great job and does Aaliyah some justice.

Do you remember this woman?

In case you have been wondering what happened to Mo’Nique since her late night show, check this out. Girlfriend has been doing the darn thing bringing in 2014 with a bang. She has a new look and a new attitude. That’s right, if you don’t like what you see in the mirror, do something about it. I for one admire big women with confidence as long as they are healthy. Women of this caliber that have great personalities always win my heart because they are not only confident but comfortable with who they are. What I don’t like is for people who are overweight, complain about it and do absolutely nothing to change it. I have always admired Mo’Nique because she has been one for going after whatever she wants in life. One day I will build the confidence and will power to go after my dreams. Mo’Nique, I am not mad at you girl, do the darn thing. Oh, almost forgot,  you can catch her moderating the Love and Hip Hop Reunion. We all know that she will keep it real with these women.
